Brachers wins KCFA Deal of the Year 2025 with Kreston Reeves

Brachers is pleased to announce that the firm has jointly won the Kent Corporate Finance Alliance (KCFA) Deal of the Year Award 2025, alongside accounting firm Kreston Reeves, for their work with Orchard Plumbing.
Brachers’ Corporate team advised Kent based Orchard Plumbing and its shareholders on its transition to employee ownership via an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). The EOT model reflects a growing trend in succession planning that prioritises employee welfare and participation.
The Brachers team, led by James Bullock, advised on the legal framework and ownership transfer, coordinating with Kreston Reeves and other Kent-based advisors, including Girlings and Crowe, to deliver a seamless and locally-driven solution.
James Bullock, Head of Corporate at Brachers, said:
“Employee ownership is an excellent way for businesses to plan succession while safeguarding their values and people. Working closely with Kreston Reeves and the other advisers we were able to deliver a smooth and successful transaction for the shareholders and employees of Orchard Plumbing.”
Joanna Worby, Brachers Managing Partner, added:
“This award is a wonderful recognition of Brachers’ commitment to delivering exceptional corporate legal advice. Our Corporate team works hard to support businesses across the South East, and this achievement highlights the strength of our expertise and collaborative approach. Congratulations to our Corporate team, and Kreston Reeves, on this win.”
Orchard Plumbing provides plumbing, heating and air-conditioning installation services across Kent. As part of the transaction, the shareholders sold their shares to a trust formed for the benefit of the company’s 40 employees, enabling a full exit while safeguarding the business’s long-term future.
