Calldene Structural Timber Solutions, one of the South East’s most experienced structural timber engineering specialists, has completed the latest investment phase at its Dover Trussed Roof Company site by installing a new £140k machine press to increase production capacity and efficiency – resulting in strengthened service for customers across the region.
Now fully operational, the new machinery will support every stage of the manufacturing process – from initial design through to final production. Complementing the Kent-based site’s recent building expansion, the machine press maximises the upgraded production space while providing greater flexibility in manufacturing. This will enable Calldene to increase production capacity and take on more complex projects for customers supported by both Dover Trussed Roof Company and its Triad Timber Components operation in Lancing.
The Mark 8C A-Frame press, manufactured by MiTek Industries, assembles structural timber trusses by pressing metal joint connectors into place to form the finished product. By reducing manual handling within the assembly process, the new machinery also supports a safer and more efficient working environment for employees.
Les Fuller, Managing Director at Calldene Structural Timber Solutions, said:
This investment is about strengthening how we support our customers across Southern England while creating a safer and more efficient working environment for our team. The installation of the MiTek machine press improves our manufacturing capabilities and increases capacity, directly improving responsiveness at Dover Trussed Roof Company while expanding the support we provide to customers via our Triad Timber Components site in Lancing. This increased efficiency will ensure faster turnaround times for our clients and continue delivering the high-quality structural timber solutions the market expects.
By continuing to invest in its regional operations, Calldene Structural Timber Solutions is reinforcing its commitment to supporting customers across Southern England. The latest upgrade strengthens production capabilities across both Canterbury and Lancing operations, helping to deliver greater flexibility, improved lead times and reliable service for projects throughout the region.
This installation marks a trifecta of recent upgrades for Calldene, following a major building expansion and the acquisition of the company’s first dedicated delivery vehicle – as the business continues to prioritise improvements in capacity, efficiency and customer service. Serving both Dover Trussed Roof Company and Triad Timber Components sites, these enhancements improve capacity, delivery services and capabilities to customers across Southern England.
