Creating an accepting culture

About the Dover Counselling Centre:
Born of the Herald of Free Enterprise ferry disaster, DCC, the trading style of the Dover Counselling Centre, will soon be 40 years old, representing a long, distinguished career that has seen many thousands of clients treated for a vast number of mental health related issues.
The Dover Counselling Centre (DCC) is housed in its own stand-alone building at Whitfield, Dover and boasts seven therapy rooms and a peaceful wellness garden. Although Dover based, if called upon the Centre administers counselling to the entire country and is renowned for its prompt and efficient attention.
The centre took over responsibility for meeting the continuing needs of the bereaved and survivors as well as members of the local community from the Kent County Council and retained the facility to expand the range of services offered.
DCC is a charity and company limited by guarantee. It is an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such adheres to the BACP ethical framework.
Counselling is not about telling you what to do, but to encourage you to talk about what has been bothering you and to help you find ways of coping by enabling you to address your difficulties in a positive way.
DCC offers a safe environment to which people in distress can refer themselves, enabling them to address their difficulties in a positive way and improve their quality of life.
The centre works in partnership with companies and organisations across the UK to provide counselling, mental health awareness raising and training to support the emotional health and wellbeing of their employees.
