Free Business Support and Workshops Available Across Romney Marsh

Businesses across Romney Marsh now have access to free, fully funded support and training through a new initiative led by the Romney Marsh Business Hub on Mountfield Road, New Romney.

Part of the East Kent Spatial Development Company (EKSDC) network, the Hub is dedicated to driving employment and economic growth across the region. With funding from Folkestone & Hythe District Council, EKSDC, and the Nuclear Restoration Service (NRS), the Hub is offering:

• Monthly bitesize workshops, open to all business types

• Unlimited one-to-one support, available anywhere across Romney Marsh

This support is available to businesses of all sizes-from early-stage ideas to established SMEs-and includes charities, CICs, voluntary organisations, and not-for-profits.

Workshop Details
Each workshop is limited to 10 participants to allow for meaningful discussion and Q&A. One-to-one sessions are unlimited and tailored to individual needs.

Eligibility
Workshops are primarily aimed at businesses within the Folkestone & Hythe District Council area. However, attendees from outside the district are welcome if space allows and they can attend in person.

  • Health and Safety at Work: Essential guidance for employers and subcontractors

  • Is Your Business Legal?: Understand the legal requirements that may affect your operations

• Wednesday 19 November

  • How to Start a Business

  • How to Write a Bid or Tender

Each session lasts just 90 minutes, making them accessible for busy professionals. A full workshop calendar for the New Year is in development, covering topics such as Cyber Security, AI, and e-commerce setup.
