Furnitubes is joining the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, contributing to a collaborative garden that explores how landscape design can support more sustainable and resilient communities.

Rather than a traditional exhibition stand, BALI’s presence at Chelsea takes the form of a garden space designed to demonstrate the collective impact of the landscaping industry. The installation aims to spark conversations with policymakers, industry professionals and the public about the role of landscapes in addressing climate resilience, biodiversity, water management and social wellbeing.

Furnitubes’ contribution focuses on how thoughtfully designed street furniture can support these ambitions. Featured within the garden will be Veeva Sol, a solar-powered charging bench that demonstrates how renewable energy can be integrated into everyday public infrastructure. Designed to operate entirely off-grid, the bench harnesses solar energy to provide wireless and USB charging alongside subtle LED lighting, creating a place where people can pause, connect and recharge.

Also on display is Hive, Furnitubes’ new modular seating and planting system. The Hive range also served as creative inspiration for the BALI stand itself, influencing both its spatial language and its name as a reflection of collaboration, community and interconnected landscapes. Built around a hexagonal geometry, Hive allows landscape architects to create adaptable configurations that evolve alongside the spaces they serve. Seating and planting share the same system language, enabling layouts to be expanded or reconfigured over time rather than replaced.

Catherine Barrett, Managing Director of Furnitubes and a member of the BALI Policy Committee, said:

Chelsea is a powerful platform to show what our industry can achieve when we work together. Sustainable landscapes aren’t created through planting alone, they rely on thoughtful design, durable materials and infrastructure that supports how people actually use these spaces.

By participating in the BALI garden, Furnitubes hopes to highlight how adaptable design, durable materials and renewable energy technologies can contribute to outdoor environments that support both environmental resilience and human wellbeing.
