Kent Charities Receive Vital Support in Hendy Foundations Latest Funding Found

Hendy Foundation, the independent charitable arm of Hendy Group, is making significant donations to three Kent-based charities after concluding its latest round of fundraising. This new allocation of funds is part of a broader programme in 2025 that has allocated more than £61,000 for 50 non-profit organisations across the South of England.

In this current grant-giving round, Hendy Foundation has supported three charities in Kent in 2025, making a meaningful and lasting difference in local communities. Including Something in Kent to fulfil their mission to improve the mental and physical health conditions of local people and organisations. Baby Umbrella received donations to provide early parenting support for families in West Kent. Abbey Physic Community Garden will use funding from Hendy Foundation to continue to provide a space for members to visit to improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Additionally, in this latest round of donations, Hendy Foundation selected a further 12 local charities across six counties that they represent to receive support:

• Harlequin Care (Dorset)

• Baby Necessities (Hampshire)

• Solent Rescue (Hampshire)

• Winchester Gold (Hampshire)

• Citizens Advice Bureau Reigate & Banstead (Surrey)

• My Sister’s House (West Sussex)

• Baby Bank and Beyond (East Sussex)

• Sussex Search and Rescue (East Sussex)

• The Good Company People (East Sussex)

‘Two Wheels for Meals’ – national reach, local impacts

Hendy Foundation has created a range of grants that help families, children, and those affected by food poverty. A standout campaign in 2025 was Hendy Group ambassador Rosemary Shrager’s ‘Two Wheels for Meals’ cycle challenge. Cycling nearly 450 miles from Land’s End to Dover, she raised £35,000 for food poverty and welfare charities and hosted cookery demonstrations along the route to boost awareness and fundraising. The Community Store House, Repton Community Trust and Making a Difference to Maidstone in Kent all received donations as part of this campaign to provide food for their local communities.

Using funds from the campaign, the Foundation supported 34 local projects tackling food poverty across Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex and Kent. Grants were used to purchase food and essential supplies for individuals and families in need.

In November, Hendy Foundation celebrated its seventh birthday with an online fundraising auction, raising a further £3000. Prizes included hospitality tickets for the England v India IT20 at the Utilita Bowl and matchday tickets for AFC Bournemouth v Arsenal, with all proceeds going directly to charitable causes in next year’s round of grant awards.

Since its creation in 2018, Hendy Foundation has donated almost £450,000 to grassroots charities across the south coast. Its ongoing work reflects Hendy Group’s long-standing commitment to giving back and ensuring local communities remain at the heart of everything it does.
