A major programme to upgrade office buildings at Kings Hill is underway at the Kent-based business park.
Work has started on a £6.75m programme of refurbishment and renovation to upgrade three of Praxis’ 14 office buildings, to provide business space that will help companies encourage their teams back to the office, rather than work from home.
A total of 106,000ft2 of existing offices have been degassed, with new electric air conditioning and ventilation installed in refurbished areas and zoned to provide a variety of different sized office units.
To meet the demand for flexible business accommodation, the buildings at 10 and 35 Kings Hill Avenue and 30 Tower View are being refurbished to provide Cat A quality office space with units ranging from 2,000 to 16,000ft2.
Harry Trahair, Asset Manager at Praxis, said: “Our refurbishment and renewal programme is a key part of our strategy for Kings Hill. We are committed to sustaining employment here and maintaining its reputation as Kent’s leading place to live and work.
“Today’s modern office-based businesses are demanding flexible space with high standards of environmental performance and fit-out, with offices of between 2,500-7,500 ft most in demand.
“We continue to see companies already based at Kings Hill move to more efficient offices, as well as interest from new businesses to lease small offices on the park and benefit from local amenities and its connectivity to London and the rest of Kent.”
This phase of the refurbishment programme is on target to be completed by July 2026. The second phase will start later this year and include an estimated £2m refurbishment of space at 2 Kings Hill Avenue and 17 Kings Hill Avenue.
