For many people, there is no place quite like home. It is where memories are made, families are built and independence is preserved. At SureCare East Surrey & Sevenoaks, helping people remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes is at the heart of everything we do.
The business was founded by Managing Director, Gaj Muraliidaran, whose passion for supporting others began long before entering the care sector. Throughout his career, Gaj has worked with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, violence and exploitation. These experiences provided a deep understanding of the challenges vulnerable people face and reinforced the importance of compassion, dignity and meaningful human connection.
Those values ultimately inspired the creation of SureCare East Surrey & Sevenoaks.
As a family-run home care provider, the company supports older adults and vulnerable individuals across Sevenoaks, Edenbridge, Westerham, Oxted, Caterham, Godstone and the surrounding areas. Services include companionship, personal care, medication support, dementia care, respite care, hospital discharge support, domestic assistance and live-in care.
However, for the team at SureCare, care is about far more than simply completing tasks.
"We believe everyone deserves to live with dignity, choice and independence for as long as possible. Our role is not just to provide support, but to empower people to continue living the life they want, in the place they know and love most – their own home."
One of the things that sets SureCare apart is its philosophy around care and independence.
While many care providers understandably focus on retaining clients for as long as possible, SureCare believes the greatest measure of success is helping people maintain or regain their independence wherever possible.
"If we can help someone rebuild confidence after a hospital stay, regain daily living skills, become more active within their community or reduce the level of support they require over time, we see that as a success. We are not here to create dependency. We are here to enhance independence, preserve dignity and help people live life on their own terms."
This person-centred approach means every care package is tailored to the individual and regularly reviewed to reflect changing needs, abilities and goals. The focus is always on what people can do, rather than what they cannot.
The company motto, "Nurturing Strength and Restoring Dignity. Where Your Family Is Our Priority," reflects the values that guide every aspect of the service.
Beyond providing care, SureCare East Surrey & Sevenoaks is committed to making a positive contribution within the local community. The team regularly supports local events, community groups and initiatives aimed at reducing loneliness and social isolation, recognising that emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health.
For Gaj, supporting people is not simply a business; it is a responsibility and a privilege.
"We know that inviting somebody into your home is one of the biggest acts of trust a family can make. We never take that responsibility lightly. Every client is treated with the same care, respect and compassion that we would want for our own loved ones."
Looking to the future, the vision for SureCare East Surrey & Sevenoaks is clear: to continue growing while remaining true to the values on which the business was built. The aim is to become the most trusted home care provider across the region, helping more people remain safe, independent and connected to the lives they love.
Success is not measured solely by growth, but by the positive difference made to the lives of the people and families supported every day. Whether helping someone regain confidence after illness, providing companionship to reduce loneliness or enabling an individual to remain in the comfort of their own home for longer, every act of care contributes towards a larger purpose.
At SureCare East Surrey & Sevenoaks, care is about more than support. It is about enhancing independence, restoring dignity and helping people live well at home.
