Kent corporate events and team building company Team Tactics has announced it has achieved B Corp Certification, joining a growing global community of businesses committed to using business as a force for good. The company has been certified by B Lab as having met rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

The certification comes at a time of growing demand for workplace volunteering and purpose-led employee experiences. A new report by the Royal Voluntary Service shows 62% of UK businesses already offer volunteering time, while research from Pilotlight suggests wider access to workplace volunteering could generate billions in economic gains and save up to 2.5 million working days of sickness absence.

Team Tactics’ B Corp Certification formalises its commitment to business that benefits people and planet, and its mission to bring the wide-ranging benefits of CSR-led team building to more organisations.

Founded in 1996, Team Tactics has built a reputation for delivering engaging, innovative corporate events, working with the likes of Barclays, Visa, Nestle and Google. Its roster of CSR and charity activities supports a growing appetite for more purposeful and engaging team experiences that deliver meaningful impact both within and beyond the workplace.

Through these activities, Team Tactics has worked with clients to deliver measurable social impact, donating 558 bikes to organisations supporting adults and children; 1,370 prosthetic hands for individuals in need in developing countries; 163 canine wheelchairs for disabled animals; and over 2,000 essential items to people experiencing homelessness.

The two-year journey to B Corp has also seen Team Tactics dedicate time to initiatives like community litter picking, and its ‘Feed the 500’ event, a not-for-profit mass charity cooking challenge that bought together 100 participants from London businesses to prepare and distribute more than 500 meals to vulnerable people across the capital.

Tina Benson, founder at managing director at Team Tactics, commented: “The journey to B Corp Certification has challenged us to look closely at every part of how we operate, from the way we run events to the choices we make behind the scenes. Achieving certification is something we’re incredibly proud of, but we know the hard work doesn’t stop. B Corp has provided us with a framework that means we’ll continue to keep learning, improving, and holding ourselves accountable.

“As we mark our 30th year in business, and look to the future of the business, it’s incredibly important to embed these values into the company DNA so they shape how we work for years to come.”

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Team Tactics to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good. We know that Team Tactics is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward”.

Benson added: “Team building has the potential to do so much more than bring people together for a day. When done thoughtfully, it can strengthen teams while also making a meaningful difference beyond the business, and that’s something we’re passionate about developing.”
