Young Franchise Owner Named As Finalist In The BFA HSBC British Franchise Awards

A young businesswoman from Kent has been named as a finalist in the BFA British Franchising Awards.
Wafa Mohbubul, owner of Home Instead Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate has been shortlisted in the Young Guns category, which recognises outstanding young talent in the franchising world.
Wafa’s journey into franchising began when she worked as a part-time carer while holding down a full-time role in the tech industry. Inspired by the impact she could have, she decided to pursue franchising full time. In 2024, aged 24, she took over a Home Instead resale territory that had been established in 2009.
In just over a year, Wafa has already made her mark. She has grown monthly revenue, expanded her team of professional caregivers, and is now delivering even more high-quality care to older people across the local area.
The finalists represent the very best of British franchising, and I look forward to seeing them all at the ceremony in November.
Speaking about her nomination, Wafa said, “I’m delighted to be nominated for the Young Gun award at the BFA Awards and incredibly honoured to be recognised alongside two other brilliant young franchisees. I’ve always had a strong drive to challenge myself and do more. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I grew up with a strong work ethic. This nomination wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of my team. They bring compassion, dedication and professionalism to their roles every day, and I’m proud to lead such an inspiring group of people.”

The British Franchise Association (BFA) has been the voice of ethical franchising in the UK for over 45 years. Its annual awards, known as the ‘Oscars of the franchising world’ celebrate the very best franchisees and franchisors across the country. This year’s awards are sponsored by HSBC UK.
Gillian Morris, UK Head of Franchise at HSBC, said: “My warmest congratulations to all the finalists in this year’s British Franchise Awards. Shortlisting the entries is one of the highlights of my year. The finalists represent the very best of British franchising, and I look forward to seeing them all at the ceremony in November.”
Winners will be announced at the BFA Awards evening in Telford.
