Nobody's coming to approve your idea

People assume that real businesses get built by other people with more resources. It's how great ideas get stuck in notes apps and conversations.

But you don't need six months and a developer's salary to validate your concept. You just need a weekend. Describe what you want to exist and Lovable builds it: a real site, a real product, ready to accept real payments from real customers. Not a mockup to show people. An actual thing they can use.

This Week’s Kent Business News

➡️ Discovery Park Welcomes Two Climate-Tech Startups

Discovery Park laboratory

Two climate-tech businesses have moved into new laboratory space at Discovery Park in Sandwich, adding to the site’s growing community of science and technology companies. Anthera Remediation Technologies is developing a way to remove PFAS, often known as ‘forever chemicals’, from soil and water, while Colliding Materials has relocated from London to develop engineered composites for energy, electronics and aerospace.

Both teams have used Discovery Spark, the park’s growth programme for startups and SMEs. The arrivals take Discovery Park’s tenant community to more than 180 companies, with the companies now pursuing pilot work, investment and commercial scale-up from Kent. The park’s specialist facilities and local networks are central to those plans.

➡️ MS Webb Opens Medway Headquarters

MS Webb team at headquarters opening

Kent security business MS Webb has opened a new 5,000 sq ft headquarters in Medway while celebrating NSI NACOSS Gold accreditation and British Security Industry Association membership. The opening brought together employees, clients and industry figures, including public safety campaigner Figen Murray OBE, who discussed the progress and implications of Martyn’s Law.

The family-owned business has expanded from two employees in a 124 sq ft office in 2021 to a team of 41. Its new base provides room for operations, wellbeing facilities and further recruitment, including security dog handlers. Company leaders say the space supports continued investment in staff and service standards.

➡️ Furley Page Adds Rugby Star To Real Estate Team

Furley Page has appointed Canterbury Rugby Club number eight Tyler Greenland to its Commercial Property division. The Kent law firm says he will advise on acquisitions, disposals, leasehold agreements, conditional contracts, option agreements and property finance, joining its thirteen-strong Real Estate team.

Tyler qualified as a solicitor in 2025 after studying at Swansea University and the University of Law in London. Furley Page has long supported Canterbury Rugby Club, where he plays in the first team. The appointment reflects the firm’s continuing connection with the Canterbury sports community and its next generation of advisers.

➡️ Lydd Airport Sets Out Future-Flight Plans

Lydd Airport future-flight demonstration

Lydd Airport has unveiled plans for a Centre for Future Flight Innovation which, research for the Good Growth Foundation suggests, could support more than 1,000 jobs and generate over £75 million a year for Kent. The proposed centre would use existing infrastructure and airspace to test and demonstrate emerging aviation technologies.

A commercial Special Use Airspace designation is central to the proposal, with estimates of 535 direct jobs. Lydd’s plans include work on uncrewed aircraft systems, advanced air mobility, autonomous systems and green propulsion. A launch event brought together aviation, technology, industry and government representatives to see live demonstrations.
