➡️ Azets Opens New Tunbridge Wells Office
Azets has opened a Tunbridge Wells office at Lonsdale Gate, led by business advisory partner Dean Yorath and private client partner Nicola MacAulay. The firm says the move will strengthen its West Kent presence, building on its existing Kent and London network while giving local businesses and entrepreneurs easier access to its services.
The new base will support advice across accounting, tax, audit, advisory, people and technology, with the team able to draw on specialists across the South East. Azets says the location reflects demand for locally based financial advisers among the town’s SMEs and professional firms, and it will headline sponsor November’s Tunbridge Wells Business Show.
➡️ PIKKLE Brings Kent Producers To Dover
Cardiff-based caterer PIKKLE will provide the food for the British Ports Association’s annual conference at the Port of Dover in October. Working with Produced in Kent and conference organiser Freshwater, it has assembled a line-up of local suppliers including Gilda Bakery, Lost Sheep Coffee, Cow Shed on the Hoof and Biddenden Vineyards.
Up to 450 delegates are expected across the event, hosted at Cruise Terminal One with a wider programme of networking and social activity. PIKKLE says its approach is built around the host location rather than standard conference menus. The appointment follows its work at the association’s 2024 Portsmouth conference and supports its plan to take this model to major events nationwide.
➡️ Redmayne Bentley Marks 35 Years In Kent
Investment management, financial planning and stockbroking firm Redmayne Bentley is marking 35 years of serving clients in Kent. Its first Kent office opened in 1991 with six stockbrokers, initially in Chislehurst High Street before later moves to Locksbottom and Petts Wood.
The Kent branch now forms part of a network of more than 25 UK offices. Chief Executive Stuart Davis, one of the original six colleagues, says the anniversary reflects the trust of generations of clients and the contribution of staff past and present. The firm, which celebrated 150 years in 2025, employs more than 400 people nationally.

How Tabitha Beasley Built a Kent Based Marketing Agency Around Results, Not Noise
After more than a decade working in London marketing and advertising agencies, Tabitha Beasley saw an opportunity to bring the same level of strategic expertise to Kent businesses, without the London price tag.
She founded Ashford-based The Marketing Associates in 2015 with a simple aim: cut through the meetings, jargon and disconnected marketing activity and focus instead on work that delivers genuine business results.
Eleven years on, the agency supports SMEs across sectors including legal, accountancy, manufacturing and higher education. Around 45% of its business now comes through word-of-mouth recommendations, with another 30% generated through networking.
In our Kent Business Spotlight, Tabitha talks candidly about building a business while raising a family, why putting systems in place earlier would have made life easier, the importance of mentors, and why business owners often wait too long before getting proper marketing support.

➡️ Kent-led robotics project receives more than £200,000
Canterbury Christ Church University has secured more than £200,000 from Innovate UK to establish a regional robotics and automation skills network. The RAISE-SE consortium, which includes EKC Group and employers such as Amphenol, will develop industry-designed training and continuing professional development for technicians, operators and businesses seeking to adopt robotics. ➡️ Former Margate chemical works released for redevelopment
A 20-year clean-up programme at the former Thor Chemicals factory on Ramsgate Road has concluded, with its environmental permit surrendered after contractor Ecologia reduced contamination by a reported 99%. The Thor Group-owned brownfield site, where manufacturing ended in 2005, can now be brought forward for redevelopment and potential employment uses. Read more.
➡️ £15.1 million finance secured for Canterbury student-accommodation scheme
Cynergy Bank has provided Student Lux Limited with a £15.1 million senior debt facility for The Sanctum, a 180-room purpose-built student-accommodation development beside the University of Kent campus. The scheme will regenerate an underused brownfield site and is the first phase of a wider Canterbury investment strategy, with profits intended to finance further developments. Read more.
